Ryo Sasaki

Ryo Sasaki was born in Osaka, Japan. His ballet training began at Sasaki Michiko Ballet Studio. In 2016, continued his training Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm. After graduating from Royal Swedish Ballet School, Ryo danced with Ballet de Catalunya in Spain for the 2018-2019 season and Teatr Wielki Lòdz Poland for the 2019-2020 season.

During the pandemic, he returned to Japan and worked with Sasaki Michiko Ballet Company. He performed as a principal and soloist on various stages as a guest artist. Ryo received many awards at the 2016 Kobe Japan Ballet Competition, as well as 1st Place at the 2017 NBA Japan Ballet Competition, 3rd Place at the2017 All Japan National Ballet Competition, and 1st Place at the 2022 Kobe Japan Ballet Competition. Ryo most recently received 1st Place at the 2023 USA International Ballet Competition Gold medal and Best Couple Award. He was also distinguished with the Commissioner for Cultural Affairs Award, granted by the mayor of Higashiosaka.
