Full-Time Positions
The Joffrey is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Individual Giving to be responsible for managing the Joffrey’s annual campaign with the main focus of soliciting donations from individuals between $1 and $5,000. This includes overseeing the Joffrey’s annual campaign process, including direct appeals, fundraising and cultivation events, donor stewardship, and working closely with volunteer groups. The Associate Director of Individual Giving is a team leader, and actively identifies and develops relationships and pathways that build on the Joffrey’s current successes and enables future programs and initiatives which support the Joffrey’s commitment to diversity, accessibility, and artistic excellence in performances & productions, training & education, and community engagement.

The Joffrey is seeking a full-time Rehearsal Director to oversee the rehearsals and staging of all ballets and is responsible for the training and development of all Company Artists. This position works closely with other Rehearsal Directors, General Manager, Company Manager, Artistic Staff, Academy Staff, Production Manager, Music Director, Stage Manager, Visiting Artists, Dancers, and Pianists. The Rehearsal Director serves as an ambassador for the Joffrey, and participates in events, performances, and other related activities.

The Joffrey is seeking a full-time Director of Development Operations to be responsible for proper acceptance, tracking, recording, reporting, and acknowledging of gifts and pledges in accordance with Joffrey policy, state and federal laws, and IRS regulations. This position manages the database to ensure the highest, most streamlined level of functionality for the advancement team, identifying opportunities that leverage the data to inform strategy. The Director of Development Operations works closely and collaboratively with members of the finance and IT departments.

The Joffrey is seeking a full-time Development Assistant to be responsible for the proper acceptance, recording, reporting and acknowledging of gifts and pledges in accordance with Joffrey policy and state and federal laws and IRS regulations. This position supports the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) and Director of Development (DOD) on scheduling needs in addition to supporting the general fundraising needs of the department. The Development Assistant works closely and collaboratively with members of the development, marketing, finance, and IT departments.

Part-Time Positions
The Joffrey is seeking a part-time Property Master (Head Props) to oversee the maintenance, repair, upkeep, movement and/or handling of all Joffrey props including sprung floors and floor coverings. Attendance is required at some meetings, and all required warehouse and all theater work calls. They report directly to the Production Manager. During performances and rehearsals, Head Props also takes direction from and reports to the Principal Stage Manager and the Stage Manager.

Contracted Positions
The Joffrey Ballet is seeking Teaching Artists to join our Community Engagement team. Community Engagement Teaching Artists (TAs) are independent contractors who teach exceptional arts education classes for Chicago Public Schools through in-school programming in multiple styles of dance including African, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and Latin. TAs offer highly structured dance experiences, encouraging students to develop technique, creativity, and life skills. Programs often last the full school year, though shorter residencies occur.
