Full-Time Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Head of the Children’s, Adult, and Adaptive Programs to work closely with Abbott Academy Director to build and create programming and with the Artistic Director, Academy Director, and staff to develop and maintain the syllabus and curriculum. The Head of the Children’s, Adult, and Adaptive Programs is responsible for the training and development of the Children’s Division students in class, rehearsals and performances, and Adult and Adaptive Programs.

Part-Time Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a regular part-time Soundperson to assist with productions throughout the season. The Soundperson is responsible for all amplifying, mixing, recording, syncing, and reproducing sounds and effects for Joffrey Ballet rehearsals, performances, and events in Chicago and on tour. They also make sure video archival recording is properly set up and executed. They work alongside with Joffrey Ballet artistic department and live musicians to plan and organize the orchestra pit and the stage for musicians. They report directly to the Production Manager. During performances and rehearsals, the Soundperson also takes direction from and reports to the Principal Stage Manager and the Stage Manager.

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking an Academy Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for the Joffrey Academy of Dance. Receptionists are responsible for helping to maintain the smooth operation of Academy reception and front desk activities at the Exelon Education Center at Joffrey Tower and at the Joffrey’s South Loop Studios. Receptionists help ensure students, families, and guests are well-informed and attended to, and they assist the Academy team as needed to maintain successful program operations.

Contracted Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking Teaching Artists to join our Community Engagement team. Community Engagement Teaching Artists (TAs) are independent contractors who teach exceptional arts education classes for Chicago Public Schools through in-school programming in multiple styles of dance including African, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and Latin. TAs offer highly structured dance experiences, encouraging students to develop technique, creativity, and life skills. Programs often last the full school year, though shorter residencies occur.
