Production Manager

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Production Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage all Joffrey productions, from scheduling and budgeting to load-out and postmortem. This position liaises with creative team and oversees the IATSE union employees in the warehouse, the costume shop, backstage, and during productions. The Production Manager works closely with the Artistic Director, Academy Director, and General Manager to coordinate all aspects of production and performance for both the Artistic and Academy departments. The Production Manager serves a critical role in supporting the Joffrey’s commitment to diversity, accessibility, and artistic excellence in performances & productions, training & education, and community engagement.

Academy Production Coordinator

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Production Coordinator to oversee and stage manage of all Joffrey Academy productions and schedules. This includes schedules and production for events both at Joffrey Tower and additional venues. Responsibilities include handling details of the Academy student’s involvement in company's productions and events, managing all Joffrey Academy productions and coordinating scheduling. This position works directly with the Academy Artistic Team and interfaces with the production and artistic staff to coordinate Joffrey Academy students’ involvement in company productions. The Academy Production Coordinator also works closely with the Academy Staff, Faculty, Reception and Facility Director to maintain the Joffrey Academy’s schedules. In addition, this position works closely with the Production Manager and Joffrey Production Team.

Communication & Logistics Coordinator

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Communications & Logistics Coordinator to manage all external and internal communications related to the Academy, coordinate the promotion of Academy programming, oversee front of house logistics for Academy performances and events, and assists with Academy operations. The Communication & Logistics Coordinator manages the processes for semester evaluations and assists with scheduling coordination and relaying audition tour results. This position oversees a part-time Academy Administrative Assistant and regularly interfaces with Academy staff and faculty as well as the Advancement team. The Communication & Logistics Coordinator attends all Joffrey Academy performances and auditions (approximately six weekends a year) as well as occasional events.

Director of Major & Planned Gifts

The Joffrey Ballet is seeks a full-time Director of Major & Planned Gifts to be responsible for developing donors and soliciting gifts of $25,000 and higher to meet an annual goal exceeding $3 million, as well as fundraising for special campaigns. This position works collaboratively with and in support of the President and CEO, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director, the Chief Advancement Officer, and leadership volunteers. The Director of Major & Planned Gifts is a team leader, and actively identifies and develops relationships and pathways that build on the Joffrey’s current successes and enables future programs and initiatives which support the Joffrey’s commitment to diversity, accessibility, and artistic excellence in performances & productions, training & education, and community engagement.

Head of Contemporary Ballet Trainee Program

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, seeks a full-time Head of our new Contemporary Ballet Trainee Program. This positions works closely with the Artistic Director and Abbott Academy Director to maintain high standards of artistic excellence and educational programming. The Head of Contemporary Ballet Trainee Program works closely with Abbott Academy Director to build and create programming.  With the Artistic Director and staff, the Program Head works on developing and maintaining the syllabus and curriculum. This position is responsible for the training, mentoring, and development of the Contemporary Ballet Trainees in class, rehearsals, and performances.

Community Engagement Associate

The Joffrey Ballet seeks a full-time Community Engagement (CE) Associate provide support related to communication and administration. The CE Associate teaches in the Extensions Program and develops curriculum to uphold the Joffrey’s artistic vision and provide an inclusive classroom experience for students. This position attends professional development meetings and workshops and supports families with Spanish language translation and communication. The CE Associate also plays a critical role in the success of the annual Nutcracker Student Matinee series.

Partnership Activation & Events Manager

The Joffrey Ballet seeks a full-time Partnership Activation & Events Manager to implement and manage a well‐coordinated, strategic approach to service all corporate sponsorships, partnerships, and Joffrey events. The Partnership Activation & Events Manager serves as the central liaison with all departments to implement and manage corporate sponsorships. This position works closely with the Associate Director of Individual Giving to provide support for all Annual Campaign and Women’s Board events and collaborates with the Associate Director of Institutional Giving to create engaging opportunities for sponsors and corporate partners.

Community Engagement Teaching Artists

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking Teaching Artists to join our Community Engagement team. Community Engagement Teaching Artists (TAs) are independent contractors who teach exceptional arts education classes for Chicago Public Schools through in-school programming in multiple styles of dance including African, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and Latin. TAs offer highly structured dance experiences, encouraging students to develop technique, creativity, and life skills. Programs often last the full school year, though shorter residencies occur.

Joffrey Academy Summer Chaperones

Joffrey Academy Summer Chaperones will assist with all aspects of student life for the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive Programs. Chaperones are primarily responsible for supervising young dance students ages 9-21+ who are participating in Joffrey Academy Summer Intensive Programs and living in the housing facilities throughout the duration of the program. Chaperones work closely with the Head Chaperone, the Abbott Academy Director and the Joffrey Academy administrative staff.

DATE AVAILABILITY: Chaperones must be available June 15-July 23. Chaperones may not have prior commitments such as classes, part-time jobs, or other conflict during the program weeks. Additional Chaperone positions are also available from July 24-August 13.
