Full-Time Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Student Services Specialist to help maintain smooth daily administrative operations of The Joffrey Academy of Dance, and ensure successfully run Summer Intensive Programs each year. This position is directly responsible for managing and supervising the Joffrey’s Reception team and Summer Chaperones, including scheduling, hiring, onboarding, initial and ongoing training, and task delegation. The Student Services Specialist works closely with the Academy team in planning, coordinating, and implementing long- and short-term objectives, goals, and projects. This role serves as a key representative of The Joffrey Academy of Dance, developing and maintaining supportive relationships with hundreds of students and families.

The Joffrey is seeking a full-time Rehearsal Director to oversee the rehearsals and staging of all ballets and is responsible for the training and development of all Company Artists. This position works closely with other Rehearsal Directors, General Manager, Company Manager, Artistic Staff, Academy Staff, Production Manager, Music Director, Stage Manager, Visiting Artists, Dancers, and Pianists. The Rehearsal Director serves as an ambassador for the Joffrey, and participates in events, performances, and other related activities.

Part-Time Positions

The Joffrey is seeking a part-time Academy Receptionists to serve as the first point of contact for the Joffrey Academy of Dance. Receptionists are responsible for helping to maintain the smooth operation of Academy reception and front desk activities at the Exelon Education Center at Joffrey Tower and at the Joffrey’s South Loop Studios. Receptionists help ensure students, families, and guests are well-informed and attended to, and they assist the Academy team as needed to maintain successful program operations

Contracted Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking Teaching Artists to join our Community Engagement team. Community Engagement Teaching Artists (TAs) are independent contractors who teach exceptional arts education classes for Chicago Public Schools through in-school programming in multiple styles of dance including African, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and Latin. TAs offer highly structured dance experiences, encouraging students to develop technique, creativity, and life skills. Programs often last the full school year, though shorter residencies occur.
