Full-Time Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Production Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage all Joffrey productions, from scheduling and budgeting to load-out and postmortem. This position liaises with creative team and oversees the IATSE union employees in the warehouse, the costume shop, backstage, and during productions. The Production Manager works closely with the Artistic Director, Academy Director, and General Manager to coordinate all aspects of production and performance for both the Artistic and Academy departments. The Production Manager serves a critical role in supporting the Joffrey’s commitment to diversity, accessibility, and artistic excellence in performances & productions, training & education, and community engagement.

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Head of the Children’s, Adult, and Adaptive Programs to work closely with Abbott Academy Director to build and create programming and with the Artistic Director, Academy Director, and staff to develop and maintain the syllabus and curriculum. The Head of the Children’s, Adult, and Adaptive Programs is responsible for the training and development of the Children’s Division students in class, rehearsals and performances, and Adult and Adaptive Programs.

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Community Engagement Associate to teach in the Extensions Program and develop curriculum to uphold the Joffrey's artistic vision and provide an inclusive classroom experience for students. This position also plays a critical role in the success of the annual Nutcracker Student Matinee series.

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking a full-time Board Relations Manager for management of The Joffrey Ballet’s Board of Directors and Committees. This individual directly manages all related coordination and logistics required before, during, and after Board and Committee meetings to ensure the highest level of preparedness and communication. In partnership with the Advancement team, the Board Relations Manager supports the processes that maintain and grow Board membership, including prospect research and related follow through, and also supports the coordination and management of all special events related to the Board of Directors. Representing the Joffrey, the Board Relations Manager attends events and performances, interacting with Board members and guests to build and deepen relationships. The Board Relations Manager directly supports the needs of individuals on the Board. This position works closely with the Executive Assistant, Chief Advancement Officer, Deputy Director & CFO, and the Board Chair.

Contracted Positions

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking Teaching Artists to join our Community Engagement team. Community Engagement Teaching Artists (TAs) are independent contractors who teach exceptional arts education classes for Chicago Public Schools through in-school programming in multiple styles of dance including African, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and Latin. TAs offer highly structured dance experiences, encouraging students to develop technique, creativity, and life skills. Programs often last the full school year, though shorter residencies occur.
