Receptionists serve as the first point of contact for the Joffrey Ballet as a whole, especially the Joffrey Academy of Dance. Receptionists are responsible for helping to maintain the smooth operation of Academy reception and front desk activities at the Exelon Education Center at Joffrey Tower and at the Joffrey’s South Loop Studios. Receptionists help ensure students, families, and all Joffrey guests are well-informed and attended to, and they assist the Academy team as needed to maintain successful program operations.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting marketing initiatives and programs. The Marketing Coordinator assists with executing marketing campaigns that include digital, print, radio, and broadcast content which promotes Company stage productions and Joffrey Academy programs, supporting merchandise sales, maintaining marketing archives, facilitating program book materials for performance tours, and managing and processing all marketing invoices. This individual works collaboratively with and in support of the Marketing team to promote all Joffrey initiatives within the Company, Academy, and Community Engagement.

The Joffrey Ballet is seeking Teaching Artists to join our Community Engagement team. Community Engagement Teaching Artists (TAs) are independent contractors who teach exceptional arts education classes for Chicago Public Schools through in-school programming in multiple styles of dance including African, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and Latin. TAs offer highly structured dance experiences, encouraging students to develop technique, creativity, and life skills. Programs often last the full school year, though shorter residencies occur.

Each spring, 6-10 Joffrey Academy Summer Chaperones, including one Head Chaperone, are contracted to assist with all aspects of student life for the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive Programs.

Chaperones are primarily responsible for supervising young dance students ages 9 to 21+ who are participating in Joffrey Academy summer intensive programs and living in the housing facilities throughout the duration of the program. All Chaperones work directly with the Joffrey Academy’s Student Services Specialist, and work closely with the Abbott Academy Director and the Joffrey Academy administrative staff.

DATE AVAILABILITY: Chaperones with full availability from June 20 – August 17, 2024 are strongly preferred. Chaperones may not have prior commitments such as classes, part time jobs, or other conflicts during the program weeks. Additional Chaperone positions are also available from June 20 – July 27, 2024, June 30 – July 20, 2024, and July 28 – August 17, 2024.
