Biography

Maxwell Dawe is from Dorset, United Kingdom, and began his dance training at the age of eight, competing in national competitions such as the ISTD Ballet and Janet Cram Awards, where he earned top prizes. These early successes led to his acceptance through scholarships into prestigious institutions, including the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, as well as both the Royal Ballet Lower School (White Lodge) and The Royal Ballet Upper School. During his training, Dawe had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers such as Derek Deane, Liam Scarlett, Goyo Montero, and Ashley Page. Performing at iconic theatres such as The Royal Opera House and The Royal Albert Hall.

In 2021, Dawe graduated with the coveted Ashton Award, presented by The Frederick Ashton Foundation, for exceptional style, personality, and technique in Ashton ballets. That same year, he moved to the United States to join the Joffrey Ballet Studio Company, where he began his professional career and later was promoted to the main company.

Since joining The Joffrey Ballet, Dawe has performed in several featured roles, including Peter in Christopher Wheeldon’s The Nutcracker, Henry in Liam Scarlett’s Frankenstein, Chef on Pointe in Alexander Ekman’s Midsummer Night's Dream and Carrot in Dani Rowe’s The Princess and the Pea

Dawe continues to contribute to the company’s diverse and dynamic repertoire and is excited to continue to mature and develop his performances.
