Shota Miyoshi (he/him) was born in Japan. He is trained in jazz, ballet, tap and hip hop. He moved to the U.S when he was 19 years old. He received his BFA in dance from SUNY Purchase College in 2022 where he studied various styles of dance, including ballet, modern techniques such as Graham and Cunningham, improvisation, and choreography. He is a recipient of Adapt-a-Dancer Scholarship from SUNY Purchase College in 2022. He has been working as a company dancer at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago since 2022. He has performed works by Aszure Barton, Lar Lubovitch, Rena Butler, Rennie Harris, Maria Torres, FLOCK (Alice Klock and Florian Lochner), Johan Inger, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Amy Hall Garner and more.
