The Grainger Academy of The Joffrey Ballet is proud to present the 2025 Grainger Academy Spring Program, live at Joffrey Tower.
The Spring Program is a series of performances featuring students from our many programs including the Children's, Dance Lab, Adaptive, Pre-Professional, Conservatory, Contemporary Ballet Trainee, and Ballet Trainee Programs and the Joffrey Studio Company. The Spring Program includes the 2025 production of Young Moves, a student choreographed dance showcase led by our Professional Training Program students. New to this year's program is the addition of Contemporary Motions, a performance that showcases students from our Jazz I, Jazz II, Modern, Dance Lab Contemporary Ensemble, and Contemporary Ballet Trainee classes and programs.
Tickets are required to attend, general admission, and non-refundable.
The Black Box Theater offers limited accessible seating in the first row. Please refer to the FAQ for details regarding accessible seating prior to purchasing tickets.

Weekend 1
May 8-11, 2025
This performance features students from all Dance Lab Ballet classes, as well as the Dance Lab Ballet Ensemble and Dance Lab Contemporary Ensemble classes.
This performance features students from our Children's Pre-Ballet A classes.
This performance features students from our Children's Pre-Ballet B classes.
This performance features students from our Children's Pre-Ballet C classes.
This performance features students from our Children's Ballet IA, IB, IIA, IIB, and Boys' Dance classes.
This performance features students from our JAM I and JAM II classes as well as students from Joffrey Community Engagement's Dance for Parkinson's Disease program.
Weekend 2
May 15-18, 2025
This performances features students from all Pre-Professional Program levels.
This performances features students from all Professional Training Programs, including the Joffrey Studio Company and Ballet Trainee, Contemporary Ballet Trainee, and Conservatory programs.
Weekend 3
May 30-31, 2025
This show features original choreography from students in the Joffrey Studio Company and Ballet Trainee and Contemporary Ballet Trainee Programs. It will also feature the presentation of the Grainger Academy Certificates of Completion to our Professional Training Program students who have completed their training for the 2024-2025 year.
New this year, this performance features students from the Jazz I, Jazz II, Modern, and Dance Lab Contemporary Ensemble classes and the Contemporary Ballet Trainee Program.
Frequently Asked Questions
This performance takes place on the 4th floor of Joffrey Tower at 10 E. Randolph Street, in the Black Box Theater (Studio A). Guests may enter through the first-floor lobby. The elevator to the 4th floor will unlock for guests 30 minutes prior to the performance.
No. Tickets will be held at will call and can be picked up and checked in in the first floor lobby prior to the show.
To purchase accessible seating for the performance, please select the Accessible Seating option when checking out. Requesting accessible seating after purchasing tickets may result in payment of a ticket transfer fee.
There is an Inter-Park parking garage located next to Joffrey Tower at 20 E Randolph St that charges by the hour. Individual parking stickers are available for purchase for $17 at Joffrey Reception. Additionally, there is limited paid street parking in the surrounding area.
Seating in our Black Box Theater is not assigned, so you may sit wherever you'd like. Seats are not able to be reserved in advance, aside from accessible seating which must be reserved through purchasing accessible seating tickets.

Tickets will not be available to purchase at the door. We highly recommend purchasing your tickets well in advance to ensure seating at your preferred performance.
Doors and elevators to the performance close 10 minutes after the performance begins. Admission after the doors close is not permitted.
Tickets are non-refundable.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a waitlist this show. If the show sells out, we recommend checking back each day leading up to the show to see if anyone has cancelled tickets, making more available to purchase.
All ages are welcome for this performance.
A selection of merchandise is available for purchase at Joffrey Reception on the 3rd floor of Joffrey Tower. Grainger Academy does not accept cash as a form of payment.
