Trial Classes
Welcome to the Grainger Academy of The Joffrey Ballet! For Children's, Dance Lab, and Pre-Professional programs, trial classes are offered with our world-class faculty for new students ages 9+. Please see below for more information.
How to Schedule a Trial Class:
To schedule a trial class, please fill out this form. Our Reception team will reach out shortly regarding your class.
Please note that trial classes must be scheduled in advance. The Grainger Academy does not permit walk-in trial classes.
Who Needs to Schedule a Trial Class?
New students ages 9+ are required to take a trial class prior to registering to receive a class placement. All students will receive placement into one of the Academy's exceptional programs. Families will be notified of placement and next steps within one week of the trial. The Grainger Academy does not hold trial classes for the Conservatory, Contemporary Ballet Trainee, and Ballet Trainee programs or the Joffrey Studio Company. Students interested in these programs must audition during our annual Audition Tour.
New students under the age of 9 are welcome to take a trial class if desired. Please note that students under the age of 9 will be placed into class level based on age regardless of trial class participation. Age-based class levels can be found in our Children's Program.
