The Joffrey Academy of Dance's Adult Open Division will be hosting a four-day summer intensive. Join us June 6-9 for a weekend of dance taught by esteemed Adult Open Division faculty.
Join us this summer for our 2024 Adult Summer Intensive!
This program is designed for adult students ages 18+ who are at the Beginning/Intermediate level. Dancers will develop technique, classical repertoire, strength, and flexibility through challenging yet fun classes taught by Joffrey Academy's acclaimed faculty. We are excited to announce that this Summer Intensive will include a performance opportunity for dancers to present a piece of repertoire learned over the duration of the intensive. This performance will be open for family and friends to support and attend.

Intensive Details
Pre-registration is required for all Adult Open Division classes and programs. Students may register using our registration system, Club Automation, which can be found linked below. To register, log in to your account and select Register for Programs on the left side of the screen. All classes and programs fill on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are a new student, please reference our Registration Instructions linked below on how to set up your Club Automation account.
The Joffrey Academy of Dance does not accept cash as a form of payment.

In general, close-fitting clothing that allows the dancer to feel comfortable and allows for proper instruction is recommended. Dance attire is not required. No costumes or tutus, please. Students should wear ballet flats for ballet class, variations, and repertoire. Character or jazz shoes are recommended for Character class. Yoga mats will be available to borrow at Joffrey Tower. You may also bring your own.
Lunch is not provided for our Adult Spring Intensive students. There are a number of restaurants in the area surrounding Joffrey Tower. A fridge and microwave will not be available to those bringing a packed lunch.
Students participating in the Adult Spring Intensive will have the opportunity to participate in a culminating performance for the intensive. No additional attire or costumes will be needed for this performance.
The performance will take place in in our Black Box Theater located in Joffrey Tower. It will not be ticketed and is open to the public. Seating for the performance is filled on a first-come first-served basis. Attendees may begin arriving for the performance at 2:30 PM CT and can access our theater by heading to the 4th floor via our lobby elevators. The performance will begin promptly at 3:00 PM CT.
The Joffrey Academy of Dance does not offer refunds, credits, or transfers for missed or canceled classes, dismissal, or withdrawal from class or program, even in the event of withdrawal prior to the class start time.
Our classes require a proper warm-up in order to avoid injury. Therefore, either Reception or Faculty may ask students to not participate if they arrive more than 10 minutes late.
