Led by Oliver Till, Head of Children's, Adult, and Adaptive, the Adult Open Division is designed for adult dancers of all abilities, whether a student has years of dance experience or wants to learn dance for the first time. All classes are fun, educational, and challenging for working professionals and others interested in dance.

Drop-In Classes

Unless marked as a series, all Adult Division classes are drop-in classes, or "pay as you go". Students may begin at any time during the semester.

Refund Policy: The Joffrey Academy of Dance does not offer refunds or credits for missed or canceled classes, dismissal, or withdrawal from class even in the event of withdrawal prior to the class start time, including drop-in classes and classes redeemed from 10-class cards.

All schedules are subject to change.

Students may register using our registration system, Club Automation, which can be found linked below. To register, log in to your account and select Register for Adult Open Division on the left side of the screen to view all available classes. All classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may not register for class more than a week in advance.

Enrollment Class Series are not available for online pre-registration due to required instructor permission.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance is no longer accepting cash as a form of payment.

Returning Students: Returning students are students who have registered for any classes before. Returning students should use their pre-existing Club Automation account to register.

New Students: New students will need to create a new Club Automation account to register.

Drop-in Class: $20.00

Discounted Rates:

College Student: $17.00 *Must present a valid student ID

Senior (Age 55+): $17.00

Professional: $15.00 *Must present a valid union card, letter of verification on letterhead from the institute of employment, or a CPS ID to be eligible.

10-Class Cards: $190.00

College Student 10-Class Card: $160.00 *Must present a valid student ID

Senior (Age 55+) 10-Class Card: $160.00

Professional 10-Class Card: $140.00 *Must present a valid union card, letter of verification on letterhead from the institute of employment, or a CPS ID to be eligible.

Class Cards are only valid during the semester in which they are purchased. No extensions or refunds will be issued for unused classes. 10-Class Cards cannot be purchased online and must be purchased through Reception.

In general, close-fitting clothing that allows the dancer to feel comfortable and allows for proper instruction is recommended. Dance attire is not required. No costumes or tutus, please. Students should wear ballet flats for ballet classes, however, socks are permitted for basic classes.

Recommended footwear and accessories:

Ballet, Keep Fit Ballet - Ballet shoes or socks

BeMoved® - Socks, ballet shoes, or jazz shoes

Contemporary - Socks or bare feet

Jazz - Jazz shoes or ballet shoes

Zena Rommett Floor Barre® - Socks, yoga mat

Our classes require a proper warm-up in order to avoid injury. Therefore, either Reception or Faculty may ask students to not participate if they arrive more than 10 minutes late.
