The dancer and choreographer who, even more than Robert Joffrey, was responsible for the role The Joffrey Ballet has in Chicago today will be the subject of a multi-year national celebration, including participation by the Joffrey during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons.

Marking what would have been Gerald Arpino’s 100th birthday, the Arpino Centennial Celebration will culminate in performances Sept. 23–24 at the Auditorium Theatre, according to an announcement Tuesday from the nonprofit Gerald Arpino Foundation.
