The Joffrey Ballet Chicago in Baden-Baden is once again showing increased dynamism and variety: energetic dance, the utmost precision and lively figures from the creative ideas of Cathy Marston, one of the most sought-after choreographers of the moment. In one of its rare guest performances in Europe, the US company is showing how it can combine very different cultural influences to create a new, larger whole, in a very American way. The soundscapes on this fantastic evening of orchestral sounds from the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern under the conductor Scott Speck also develop in a dynamic manner. The three-part ballet evening with different narrative forms and styles was celebrated by the audience with a standing ovation.
