Board first vice chair of The Joffrey Ballet

Scope of work: McDonough supports the chair in leading Joffrey’s 62-member board. In his first year as first vice chair, he's also served on the executive, compensation, facilities, and nominating and governance committees.

Nonprofit contribution: He launched the Board Challenge to stabilize Joffrey during a financial crisis, helping to eliminate debt, secure pro bono support, and strengthen governance. His leadership continues to bolster Joffrey’s performances, training programs, and Chicago Public Schools arts instruction.

Other contributions: McDonough formerly led the Alphawood Foundation and served on the Lambda Legal National Board. He's also a former general counsel and senior vice president at Sun-Times Media Holdings.
