Toddler and Me 

2 YEARS OLD | 45 MINUTES 

This movement-based class encourages early socialization and creativity; develops physical strength, coordination, and spatial awareness; and strengthens familial bonds. Adult participation is required; participants may be a parent, guardian, grandparent, nanny, or sitter and should wear clothing that allows comfortable movement. 

Creative Movement A 

3 YEARS OLD | 45 MINUTES 

Students are introduced to concepts of musical phrasing, placement of the body, dynamics, and coordination. Students will learn how to stand up straight before and after an exercise, where they are in space, and to lean into their creativity with improvisation and themed movement. 

Creative Movement B 

4 YEARS OLD | 45 MINUTES 

Students build on concepts in Creative Movement A. As per their age and development, they have a stronger understanding of musical phrasing and can create more specific shapes with their bodies whilst exploring improvisation themes more deeply. Here they will continue their dynamic development by playing with music and movement through structured exercises and themed improvisation. 

Pre-Ballet A 

5 YEARS OLD | 1 HOUR 

Students are introduced formally to ballet vocabulary and a more traditional structure of class with warm-up, progression of exercises in the center, and jumping. Dancing to a phrase of music is developed whilst building the groundwork of dancing in defined shapes and spaces in the studio. Use of imagery and improvisation are still incorporated to enhance learning and artistry.  

Pre-Ballet B 

6 YEARS OLD | 1 HOUR 

Students continue to develop their basic vocabulary, understanding the phrasing of music throughout an exercise, and employing a greater understanding of the shapes they are trying to create.  

Pre-Ballet C 

7 YEARS OLD | 1 HOUR 

Students will strengthen and consolidate the concepts from Pre-Ballet A and B. They will have a clear understanding of the shapes they are trying to make and continue to learn how the music affects movement through tempo and dynamics. Here they will build the foundation to take them into Ballet IA.  

Boys' Dance

 
7-11 YEARS OLD | 1 HOUR 
 

This movement-based class is an introduction for male-identifying students into the positive and supportive atmosphere of dance. Students will specifically focus on jumping, musicality, coordination and stability to help them build the skills and strength needed to be a dancer.  

Ballet IA 

8 YEARS OLD | 2 DAYS A WEEK 

Students are formally introduced to the ballet barre and how to interact, stand, and work with the barre. The class structure now follows the classical ballet class format with warm-up, barre, center, and jumping in that order. Feet and arm positions are expanded as are more advanced movements introduced in the barre, center, and jumping. Traditional boys' and girls' steps are introduced at this level. 

Ballet IB 

9 YEARS OLD | 2 DAYS A WEEK 

Students will build on the foundation introduced in Ballet IA with development in exercises and complications such as turning sideways and holding the barre one handed whilst performing an exercise. Traditional boys' and girls' steps continue to be developed. 

Ballet IIA 

10 YEARS OLD, BY PLACEMENT ONLY | 2 DAYS A WEEK 

Students in this level are introduced to other dance methods such as character or West African (subject to schedule and change). Focusing on the balletic complications of port de bras and use of the head in a formalized fashion, students start to build more artistry to their technique. A high work ethic is expected at this level, as the students begin to dedicate more time in the studio to learning their technique through one (1) hour and thirty (30) minute classes. Traditional boys' and girls' steps continue to be developed. 

Ballet IIB 

11 YEARS OLD, BY PLACEMENT ONLY | 3 DAYS A WEEK 

Students in this level are committed to three (3) days a week and are aware of basic positions and coordination introduced in the previous levels. Development of turnout, height of legs, pirouettes (turning), direction of the body, and jumping are all focused on in this level. Traditional boys' and girls' steps continue to be developed. 

Ballet IIC 

12 YEARS OLD, BY PLACEMENT ONLY | 3 DAYS A WEEK 

Students begin to combine concepts within exercises to prepare them for the more advanced levels of training, expanding their vocabulary at the barre, center, and jumping. This level introduces specific pointe shoe preparation for the girls and strength and conditioning for the boys. Students will be aware of their training strengths and weaknesses and take an active role in working towards goals to help them progress in their technique and artistry. Traditional boys' and girls' steps continue to be developed. 

Children’s Jazz 

7-10 YEARS OLD | 1 HOUR 

In this uniquely American dance style, students learn basic jazz dance techniques. Children’s Jazz will help develop student’s performance, endurance, strength, and rhythm. Taking jazz in addition to ballet will help create a well-rounded dancer.  

Character 

 30-90 MINUTES 

Character consists of folk and national dances from across Europe and the continent. This dance class is built to enhance the student's presence, posture, artistry, and musicality that is used throughout traditional ballet repertoire.
