Amber Neumann is in her fifrth year with the Joffrey after studying at The Joffrey Academy of Dance in 2009. Previously, she had been a member of Southold Dance Theater’s pre-professional company in South Bend, Indiana.

Ms. Neumann attended The Joffrey Ballet’s Summer Intensive 2009 and has also attended other summer workshops including Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, Mississippi, Gregory Hancock Dance Theater Summer Program in Indianapolis, Indiana, and most recently, Nutmeg Conservatory Advanced Summer Workshop in Connecticut (on full scholarship summer of 2008). She was also accepted to Pacific Northwest Ballet’s summer program.

She participated in the New York International Ballet Competition winning the silver medal in the Women’s Division. During the past four years, she has participated in the Youth America Grand Prix in both the Chicago semi-final and the New York finals competition under the artistic direction of Anna Reznik and Alexei Kremnev.

At the 2009 Chicago Regional competition, Ms. Neumann performed contemporary solos Uakti and Amelie and a classical solo from Coppelia, which gained her the Grand Prix Award. At the 2008 Regional Semi-Finals in Chicago, she performed a solo from Diana & Acteon, which won her 2nd place in the classical division. She also performed a contemporary solo, Toma Que Toma, for which she won 1st place.

Roles performed with the Joffrey include A Venetian Dancer in Othello, Spanish dancer in The Nutcracker, Autumn Fairy in Cinderella, The Concert, Tarantella and works by Gerald Arpino including Reflections and Confetti.

In 2011, Ms. Neumann appeared in an independent film called “Follow the Leader.”
