About The Joffrey Ballet

The world renowned Joffrey Ballet moved to Chicago in 1995.  Although relatively young in Chicago, The Joffrey has made tremendous strides in becoming a cultural pillar of the community and will soon embark on a capital campaign focused on securing its long term home in Chicago.  The vision of co-founders Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino remains ever present, namely the preservation of historical masterpieces, the commission of new works and the performance of the ground breaking ballets created by the company’s founders.  Diversity has been and continues to be at the heart of the company’s mission. The company performs four times per year at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago in collaboration with the Chicago Sinfonietta.  The Joffrey also tours extensively in the U.S. and internationally.  The Joffrey is governed by a 70 person Board of Directors representing Chicago’s largest corporations and is also supported by a 150 plus Women’s Board who host The Joffrey’s widely attended special events.
