Information for Joffrey Company Auditions for 2010

The Joffrey Ballet will hold open auditions in March, 2010. Our performance season is July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011, based on a one-year contract of 38 guaranteed weeks. The Joffrey Ballet is committed to being a multicultural dance company; dancers of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

Chicago:

March 14, 2010.

Women:  10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Men:  12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

If you are attending the open audition in March, audition materials are not required prior to the audition.  You will need to bring a headshot and resume on the day of the audition.  . However, if you cannot attend the open audition and wish to apply for a class audition, please send:

• Resume: including performance experience, training, height, awards received and contact information
• Dance photos: two to three different full body views (preferably not in black clothing) and a headshot
• Performance or  studio DVD

After materials are reviewed, an invitation will be extended to dancers the Artistic Director wishes to see in class. Submission of materials is by mail only; audition materials sent for review will not be accepted by e-mail and cannot be returned.  Receipt of audition material does not guarantee a class audition.
