Children's Division
Overview
At the Joffrey Academy of Dance, nurturing a love of dance at a young age sparks a true passion for the art form. The Children’s Division builds a strong dance foundation by focusing on correct posture, placement, discipline, coordination, strength, flexibility and musicality.

Placement:
The Joffrey Academy Faculty evaluates and places student in the appropriate level based on age and ability. Students are continually evaluated throughout the year and placement is at the discretion of the Joffrey Academy Faculty.
Attire:
Creative Movement – Jaguars – Pre Ballet
Girls Required: Solid pink leotard, pink footed tights and pink ballet slippers. Recommended: Mirella camisole leotard style M207C and Canvas split sole ballet slippers. *Please note that skirts are not allowed in any ballet class in the Children's Division.
Boys Required: White fitted t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and white ballet slippers
Ballet I
Girls Required: Pink camisole leotard, ¾” hip alignment belt or ¾” elastic, pink footed tights and pink ballet slippers.
Recommended: Mirella leotard style M207C, Canvas split sole ballet slippers.
Boys Required: White fitted t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and white ballet slippers.
Ballet II
Girls Required: Light Blue camisole leotard, ¾” hip alignment belt or ¾” elastic, pink footed tights and pink ballet slippers.
Recommended: Mirella leotard style M207C, Canvas split sole ballet slippers.
Boys Required: White fitted t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and black ballet slippers.
