INFRA

An exploration of seeing beneath the surface, woven together with striking animation from artist Julian Opie. INFRA pushes the bold, stylized movement of internationally recognized choreographer Wayne McGregor to new heights amid a soundscape at once haunting and hopeful.

Fool's Paradise

Choreographer: Christopher Wheeldon | Music: Joby Talbot

Dancers bring flawless classical technique to an exquisite rendering of solos, duets, and trios in this work of sublime beauty from Tony Award®-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.

Year of the Rabbit

Choreographer: Justin Peck | Music: Sufjan Stevens

Inspired by the Chinese zodiac, Year of the Rabbit weaves its ensemble of dancers into intricate and architectural forms. Set to a classical orchestration of Sufjan Stevens' electronica song cycle, this visually arresting work from acclaimed 29-year-old choreographer Justin Peck soars with exhilaration and grace.

Celebrated around the globe for his originality and humor, Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman brings his unique cinematic vision to the Joffrey. "An inspired joker and true man of the theater," says the Chicago Sun-Times

The Miraculous Mandarin

Choreographer: Yuri Possokhov | Music: Béla Bartók

Master of invention and Joffrey favorite Yuri Possokhov brings wild imagination to Bartók's dramatic post-World War I tableau. Dubbed "reliably unpredictable" by the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Ballet resident choreographer never fails to delight -- and stun -- with his storytelling.

Mammatus

Choreographer: Annabelle Lopez Ochoa | Music: Michael Gordon

Renowned for her improvisational skill, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa returns to the Joffrey with her spellbinding depiction of a turbulent cloud formation. "Sexy in an ambient way, embodying the impersonal attractions and repulsions that drive nature's never-ending churn," says Chicago Tribune
